SCREEN PRINTING
Screen printing is a special technique widely used in industry. It consists of the use of a polyester fabric matrix to reproduce lettering or graphics. It can be done by hand, with special frames, or with automatic machines, depending on the job to be done and the number of products/prints to be reproduced. The screen printing technique allows the deposit of a considerable thickness of opaque ink on any geometric surface uniformly, even on very different materials, with characteristics of excellent color permanence and durability. It is used for advertising printing on:
- metals
- cartoons
- plastic
- license plates
It is widely used in the industrial field for making:
- control panels
- aluminum license plates
- customization of industrial machines
- glasses
The choice of the type of ink to use depends on the substrate on which you intend to print. Vinyl inks are the most common and ideal for printing on paper, cardboard, wood, PVC or plastics in general. In UV screen printing, drying takes place inside ovens. If solvent inks are used, however, the solidification of the color is natural by evaporation of the solvent. The screen printing technique allows exact reproduction of PANTONE colors (spot colors) and requires one plate per color. In four-color screen printing, on the other hand, only 4 plates can be used and also allows for all colors and shades.
